Coenzyme Q10 Treatments
Coenzyme Q10 has some suggested or considered benefits, either to a small or large degree, as a treatment for a variety of issues. Please remember that these are merely claims, and the actual level of effectiveness in particular cases may not be known. The following diseases and conditions are some in which coenzyme Q10 has been used for treatment or supposed benefits:
Angina (chest pain from clogged heart arteries)
Anthracycline chemotherapy heart toxicity
Cardiomyopathy (dilated, hypertrophic)
Gum disease (periodontitis)
Heart attack (acute myocardial infarction)
Heart conditions (mitral valve prolapse in children)
Heart protection during surgery
High blood pressure (hypertension)
Increasing sperm count (idiopathic spermatozoa)
Mitochondrial diseases and Kearns-Sayre Syndrome
CoQ10 has been tested for uses with regards to diabetes and Huntington's disease, but has not shown evidence of benefits, or has shown negative evidence in some situations.
